Open House for Mt. Rushmore Road Project

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in cooperation with the city of Rapid City, Ferber Engineering Company, Inc. and Reede Construction, will hold an open house style public meeting for the Mount Rushmore Road Reconstruction project in Rapid City.

The project extends along Highway 16 from St. James Street to Kansas City Street for urban grading, storm sewer, curb and gutter, sidewalk, lighting, signals and surfacing and from Kansas City Street to Omaha Street for joint and spall repair.

This open house style public meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, LaCroix Hall C located at 444 N. Mt. Rushmore Road.

The open house will be informal with staff available with displays to discuss issues and answer your questions regarding the reconstruction project. A short presentation will be given at approximately 6 p.m. During this time, you will also have the opportunity to present written comments.

Notice is hereby given to individuals with disabilities that this open house/public meeting is being held in a physically accessible place. Please notify the SDDOT ADA Coordinator at least 48 hours prior to the open house/public meeting if you have special needs for which this agency will need to make arrangements.
