Project #NH 0016(79)68, PCN 027C
RAPID CITY, SD – Thursday, April 7 – Removal work is completed from Kansas City Street to Quincy Street and is continuing to move south along Mt. Rushmore Road. Sewer work is being done in the alley between Quincy Street and Columbus Street. Water work is being done in Quincy Street. A water tie-in is scheduled for the night of Monday, April 11. Water will be shut off from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. This will affect buildings on Quincy Street from Mt. Rushmore Road to West Boulevard and on Mt. Rushmore Road from Quincy Street to Columbus Street.
Beginning Monday, April 11, the intersection of Columbus Street and Mt. Rushmore Road will have intermittent closures.
Business access on Mt. Rushmore Road will remain open at all times. A “Temporary Pedestrian Access Route” will be maintained on the east side of Mt. Rushmore Road through the first phase of construction. Left-hand turns across traffic are discouraged to allow for continued flow of traffic.
Motorists are asked to slow down through the work zone and be prepared for: suddenly slowing, merging and stopped traffic, minor delays, loose gravel, uneven surfaces and bumps, as well as construction workers and equipment adjacent to the roadway.
